No reason to bash this person. Buying for the right reasons with money they have. Who here actually expects a Dr. not to be employeed unless they are molesting kids or something?
Recession proof job with high incomes tells me they can outlast any problems in the current economy that may hurt most of us. Buying for family and health reasons, not a quick profit or cause they wont be able to soon crap.

OP- Thanks for answering. It is the scientist in me, always asking why. I hope I didnt offend asking, but when asking advice it is helpful to understand the whole story to give any good response back. Id wait, but I am not a MD, so I am not you.

The only advice I can even think to give is to not get impatient. You intend on living here a while, so be choosy. Remember time is on your side, if you have to wait till the fall the only differnce will be that there will be fewer people competing with you and lower prices. Also you may know what color to paint the nursery. Best of luck and enjoy the new house.

I will definitely be choosy, if fact, I am really getting to see what everyone’s been talking about this “spring bump.” We looked all winter and saw many possibilities, unfortunately 2 of these were short sales. One went to another buyer and the other is still out there in short sale limbo. Since then, we haven’t seen anything on the market that we can grow old in for 600-700K. The search continues…if I see anything I’ll post the address to get everyones opinion. Seems like everything in that range is <1800 sq feet which is a little tight for us- midwest immigrants.
