    Don’t feel like you owe anyone an answer around here. The decision is yours alone and it appears you are aware of the risks/trade-offs and prepared to deal with them. Encinitas is a wonderful community and one I have enjoyed for many years. It is one of the rare parts of SD County with a real sense of community. Long term this area only will get better. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I have. It is truly paradise on earth to me.

    I think this is the first thread I’ve seen in some time where someone confessed to intending to buy soon without being deluged with insults and beat over the head with all the reasons that it’s stupid to buy now. Refreshing civility.

    No reason to bash this person. Buying for the right reasons with money they have. Who here actually expects a Dr. not to be employeed unless they are molesting kids or something?
    Recession proof job with high incomes tells me they can outlast any problems in the current economy that may hurt most of us. Buying for family and health reasons, not a quick profit or cause they wont be able to soon crap.

    OP- Thanks for answering. It is the scientist in me, always asking why. I hope I didnt offend asking, but when asking advice it is helpful to understand the whole story to give any good response back. Id wait, but I am not a MD, so I am not you.

    The only advice I can even think to give is to not get impatient. You intend on living here a while, so be choosy. Remember time is on your side, if you have to wait till the fall the only differnce will be that there will be fewer people competing with you and lower prices. Also you may know what color to paint the nursery. Best of luck and enjoy the new house.
