My wife and I lived directly across from this development when we first moved to SD in Sept 04. Right when they were being built. The floor plans are stupid.

For what these crackhead builders are charging for new condos, I can buy a decent 3 bedroom home in Poway or Scripps Ranch. I really don’t know what the builders are smoking right now but hopefully they will wake up from their coked out minds soon with imploding loans.
Here is what makes me laugh:
I can buy 2 brand spanking new homes in Texas (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio) for what one of these condos cost!!!! And there are plenty of good jobs there too. People are nicer. I am tempted to move after my lease is up in 18 months. While I love San Diego the real estate market still needs to drop by another 100k before I will buy a place here.

Of course the constitution there is written in pencil and the job market isn’t so great, but people are super friendly. Plus since they have suffered through multiple hyper-inflation cycles they’ll understand your desire to flee the US.
Oh and not to threadjack, whats wrong with the floor plans at Spectrum? I’ve not been over to see them.

is that you have to walk up a flight or two of stairs from the garage to the main living area. That and the spacing between condos is tough to navigate from the driveway into each garage. Bad design in my view. That and a substation next door is not that great. I would pay 150-200k for these condos but not the ridiculous 390-450k they are asking for them.
Texas is dirt cheap. I am thinking of buying a place in couple years since I travel for work and would rather own a nice home then keep renting or pay too much for a condo in San Diego.

I posted before about Spectrum and how I think it will have plenty of foreclosures and such in the future. You may be able to get the 150-200 you posted and it may pencil out as a rental…
