i thought it slightly intriguing that some of the kid names are “alternatively” spelled — in particular, alexus. which, when separated out is A Lexus … subliminal status seeking in the name? Is the dog named Rolex?
Well, I was thinking of the other connotation….a Lexus is kinda known for going out of control…..But now now, don’t pick on people’s names. I kinda like the names that aren’t common..
For the kids sake, I hope they get their act together.

It is banker’s job to assess if they got the ability to pay back the loan.
They were doing their job.
Bankers were too greedy to do theirs.
Lisa, is that you? Puh-leeze. What a load of hooey. Aw, gee, they were just trying to create a better life for the family, is it?
How about this, in terms of life lessons: Live within your means; raise and educate your children properly; and take responsibility for your life?
“They were doing their job”. What utter, errant nonsense. Completely emblematic of the wrong-headed, moral infantilism that’s gotten this nation in the dire straits we’re in now.

January 7, 2010 at 9:53 PM #500044scaredyclassicParticipanti think it is bad to give your kid a name with non-standard spelling. first, they have to explain it to other people their entire life. that wastes valuable time. second, it makes people think maybe your parents were dumb, because it’s unclear whether it’s an intentional variation, or your parents just couldn’t spell. maybe it’s wrong to think that way, and it probably is, since the name is just a name, and it should be more unique than they are now, since we are all unique, but I cannot help it. Alexus doesn’t work for me. I looked it up on a baby name website, and it’s actually primarily a male name, extremely uncommon. i don’t know, the name is troublesome. naming a kid is a big thing, almost as big as buying a house in la cresta (sarcasm on) and should be carefully planned. I suppose perhaps people aren’t as analytical about this issue as I am, but it just seems like a bad move. I’m not picking on Alexus, or her particular individual name, but just in the wisdom of all parents in selecting names that make life any more difficult than it already is. A BOY NAMED SUE, by johnny cash, comes to mind.
