Perhaps it’s me, I’m trying to figure something simple. Are you asking a question, or posting a rant or rave?
It’s interesting you talked about everything from National City to 4S to Carmel Valley and back, with a tough of religion and a bash of foreign cars (which btw, most of the appliances from Japan despite being a japanese brand are actually MADE by american car workers in american factories).
I have to say, you’re one of the few people heare that have been able to connect housing, neighborhoods, religion, and import trade all in one thought. (The only thing missing is politics 🙂 )
I know the years ahead will be very difficult for consumers who needed to keep up with the Joneses and will now have to live off of home-made coffee and driving a car that’s 3 years old.
Anyway….I don’t think it’s the Joneses you’ll need to think about in CV. As you said, they’re broke.
However, you will need to think about the Chandra’s, Jain’s,Kim’s, Chang’s, Cheng’s, Chen’s, Krishan’s, Yamamoto’s,Kwon’s, And depending on your comfort level with folks from those backgrounds, CV may or may not be somewhere you’re comfortable living in (you did note a discomfort of “foreign” cars)Some have voiced extreme discomfort in living in an area where there is a non-trivial “minority” population. Nothing wrong with it…It is what it is. But just so you are aware.

October 14, 2008 at 8:15 AM #2874011ABHOParticipantI’m just ranting. Maybe that was too much to read.
* National City – the hard hit area is still overpriced. Idiots are buying for there for $130 PPSF.
* CV ain’t all that and I have no problems with foreigners. I am upset with all the consumerism over the past 20 decades and people who feel the need to drive fancy cars that can’t afford them.October 14, 2008 at 8:15 AM #2873971ABHOParticipantI’m just ranting. Maybe that was too much to read.

a)Housing will be floored.
b)Equities will be floored. That’s good news for young people.
Can’t police people in the past for being stupid.
