If you have not read Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely it’s a must read for those that want to understand the odd inner-workings of these strange human brains.

I was thinking the same, how can he write so publicly that he knew what he was doing was wrong and that he and the mortgage guy were essentially working the system by leaving out vital information ($4000 per month payment to ex-wife). Isnt he admitting to fraud?May 15, 2009 at 2:50 PM #400042lostkittyParticipantDrBoom-

Well, now there’s an exception. It was I, the wife who fought everyone (husband, MIL, and other in-laws, etc.) in order to sell-to-rent in 2004. I know of many other women in the same position, some here on this site. On Ben Jones’ site, at least half of the posters are women, and had the same experience I did. It is NOT gender-specific. Perhaps your male friends are too wimpy to admit their part in the purchase, and like to blame it on their wives?
[/quote]This is very true, CA, and I apologize if my comment (not the comment you quoted) came across otherwise.
It’s always funny to me how in most couples, one is very spendy and one is very tight. I know just as many couples where it is the female who is financially responsible as I do where the male is.
The classic example: Casey Serin was the conductor driving his train off the cliff.
