Guest
Once you get above 3 floors, it starts to get real expensive per sqf from my understanding. then there is parking, but maybe that would be where car share comes in.
That why you don’t have parking (reduced building and land costs) and charge for driving into the city like they do in London or Singapore. I was impressed how in Singapore, even the private parking at the mall would charge the parking fee using the EZ pass. No need to pay the attendant or use a ticket machine.
The fee would be based on traffic pattern to be charged on the EZ pass. Perhaps license plates would have a built-in transponder that would allow the DMV to charge you automatically (or send the cops to get you if you don’t pay).
I know…. big brother.

I work with customers in Japan and they are always telling me they need to leave to catch the high speed rail to their town (usually about 100 miles or so outside Tokyo)
Do they commute every day? or once a month?

ParticipantEveryday, From what they tell me it’s still a two hour ride because they need to ride other intown trains to get to the high speed one, but that’s the price for working in tokyo.
Also having a place in Tokyo is like about $1000 a sqf so living in town is just not an option.
Either is it is London from what I understand.
