btw, what is that Gorilla doing sitting over in the corner of the room? Where is all the outrage of the gun control crowd now? now that you need a very large gun with lots of bullets to defend yourself?? Please talk about semi-automatic assult weapons that do not have a purpose, or something else that will make you feel good about this story….
Is that a 46 on the placard on the ground? I saw three shotgun shells in yesterday’s photo, that would likely be 27 double aught buckshot. That just leaves 19 other shots to count.
The Honda Ridgeline on the news showed three shots through the front windshield this morning and air bags deployed.
Note, LA Times is saying the two women we 71 and 47.
Ok for first of all, the cop(s) that shot into that BLUE TACOMA (which is a far difference from a charcoal gray Nissan Titan) wasn’t LAPD. I believe it was Torrance Police.
How someone mistakes a Blue Toyota Tacoma for a Gray Nissan Titan is beyond me..
No worries though. The two shot will file a lawsuit, they’ll make millions off of it… The cop(s) responsible for the shooting will go on administrative leave for some time… Probably fully paid, due to union rules, and then retire with a full pension…And oh yeah, the city of torrance will pay for the bill…Or I should say the taxpayers….
I think that’s how you make money in California now…Get shot by the police (don’t get killed) have someone video tape it, and then sue…
No, it was the LAPD “protective team” at the house they were protecting that shot the Tacoma while it was delivering newspapers, the Torrance police were responding to the gunshots and they shot the other truck after that driver was told to turn around and go back up the street. I heard the Torrance PD say the Torrance officers were in “fear for their lives” that is why the smashed into the truck and shot it up, more bs.

Come to your own conclusions..
I personally think he got fvcked over bigtime and it pushed him over the edge.. Not saying what he’s doing is justified… But he got screwed over…
Under a different circumstance, he probably would have made a good naval officer… He’s obviously fairly intelligent…It’s tragic, me thinks.
The other sense of twisted irony is this guy probably will get the chair more likely than the colorado shooter… The later will plead mental insanity as his defense… Dormer on the other hand demonstrates functional mental state.

No, I didn’t say he was… But, that in itself is an issue.

People need to take a good look at that Toyota and think about what it really says about the LAPD.
(Then we can have a 2nd discussion about how they managed to hit the two occupants ONCE).

I would too if I was endangered of losing my overtime pay and my pension after this.
February 8, 2013 at 11:53 AM #758967desmondParticipantHere’s another thing, you have ONE guy that is putting all law enforcement into total chaos here in LA, so can you imagine something on a larger scale? You have to be able to protect family and yourself, how you do that is your choice, just don’t try and tell others how to make that choice.

They hit one (71y old). Her daughter was supposedly injured by the broken glass.

They are currently on paid administrative leave as the circumstances of the shooting are investigated
Six cops on a cul-de-sac pumping bullets in a blue toyota with two hispanic women in it…
Of course it would be paid administer leave…What, did you think they would not pay them, even if they did f up and shoot innocent people? Where else can you f up and still get paid for it?

Actually, I think the opposite. I’m surprised anyone is actually surprised by this. Afterall, it is LAPD….
You think other cops in LA are better? Think again. I recall I went to a high school that was a great part of town… The city for whatever reason was patrolled by LA County Sheriff (Lomita dept I think). I recall there was an incident that a high school kid jaywalked across an in front of the high school because she was late to class, and as she walked past the gates and into a school office to get a tardy note, a cop started chasing after her…The cop apparently waited for her to exit the school office, grabbed her by the neck, put her in a choke hold, and tackled her to ground and started to cuff her. The principal came out and was like “WTF are you doing” to the copper. Little did the cop know was that the girl was the daughter of some rich dude family with major connections…So obviously nothing happened afterwards…Can you imagine had it been just any random person?
I’m sure there’s good cops too…somewhere….
February 8, 2013 at 2:09 PM #758991no_such_realityParticipant“That’s what’s so disturbing, that they would fire so many rounds,” he told The Times. “It sounded like the Fourth of July.”
Sidio, 58, who described himself as a strong supporter of law enforcement, said he was concerned that the officers fired numerous rounds in an area filled with families and children.
I suppose that explains why the cops aren’t really sure how many shots were fired… Obviously the neighbor is just another cop hater. /sarcasm

He headed up toward the mountains.
Why didn’t he head east towards Arizona?? Only FBI operates across state boundaries.. from there make a run to Mexico across land? That tells me that Mexico was not his intended destination.. it was a diversion.
I doubt he had a car planted up there because: You don’t put a car in the mountains up a one-way road that does get use and would be seen by the forest service or passers by. The roads are very steep and icy up there, I live at the same elevation travel those roads all the time with my quad, a regular car has no chance.
I ski and hike that area. A lot of it is paved, not dirt. The tracks going to where the vehicle was burned are straight.. no coming off sideways from the vehicle. Front tire was straight. Didn’t look like a spinout. It also looked like it was just off of a more traveled and wider road. It is also not a one-way road.. though it was narrow. Hikers regularly park on the side of some of the roads. It just depends upon which mountain you are trying to bag. BTW, I think they mentioned that the vehicle was between Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski resorts, closer to Bear Mountain. -
