– Since your average Joe doesn’t know the value of gold or what it looks like, it seems a bit safer than cash in the event of a home robbery. Just leave it out in the open and they will surely think it’s worthless
– The same could be done with a 1,000 Swiss Franc (which is worth about USD $1,000). If you offered it to someone on the street for $50, I bet it would be very difficult to find a taker.
