Major scam. Renters beware:

The next time someone gets a nigerian spam email from craiglist regarding rentals, we should put our collective minds together to figure out the best way to screw around with the scammer along the lines of the PPP powerbook prank. I'm thinking about stringing the guy/gal along view fedex overnights to different addresses. Or getting the spammer's fax number, and feeding a 8×14 paper halfway into a fax machine, taping the two ends together, and sending him/her a fax indefinitely.vSort of like screwing around with telemarketers by telling them "yes, I'm interested, but could you hold on for a minute", and then placing the telemarketer on hold indefinitely.

A while ago I got these “Nigerian” spam emails too asking me to contact them and send money to claim a big fund….etc.

I responded and ask them to contact me ASAP by phone so I could get the money by sending them the check….We emailed back and forth, I gave them one at a time several fake long distance phone numbers to call, first to me ASAP, then to my secretary, then to my mom and lawyer, each time with more urgency….The emails came back kept saying they tried several times but not able to reach the correct number…..

I hope those guys paid some long distant fee trying. Anyway, I had fun keeping them excited for nothing for a while.
