I’ve thought about such a network many times. It seems to me that the difficulty would be in having as much of an effect on beliefs/discourse/narrative/votes as fox and the rest of the right-wing propaganda machine do. Because fox et al. use half-truths, innuendo, manipulation, and outright lies. And this new network would be trying to compete against fox for the hearts and minds of the people, but without using those things.
It’s like trying to win a boxing match without cheating when the other guy is using steel-toed gloves. I don’t think it can be done.

If you made that work, we really would be living in a post-truth society.
April 20, 2020 at 2:07 PM #816691outtamojoParticipantStart with a blog or youtube channel.I’m sure you can come up with a catchier name than I.I will then ask my kids, who have way more on-line influence to subscribe.
April 20, 2020 at 8:16 PM #816721FlyerInHiGuestSo the consensus is that there is currently no left equivalent to Fox News?
April 23, 2020 at 11:14 AM #816788svelteParticipantI think what you’re looking for already exists in huffpo.com and dailykos.com
They are about as one-side as they can be.
April 23, 2020 at 12:56 PM #816790outtamojoParticipantThose do not have nearly the reach of fox news. Those are more the the blaze or heritage.org

I don’t want in because i don’t think there is money to be made. The liberal audience thinks in too many directions. They are not focused on a certain American identity and way of life, so they don’t take things personally or easily get riled up.
Example: Do you get worked up by all the Spanish language radio stations? Or do you just change the channel? You may even think “oh cool, I should learn the language.”
Right-wingers think of that as an “invasion”. They get angry.By definition, progressive embrace change while conservatives want things back the way they were before.

Here is a balanced article on drought:
https://www.sacbee.com/news/california/water-and-drought/article242063336.htmlAnd here is how Huffpo spun it:
https://www.huffpost.com/entry/southwest-megadrought-study_n_5e98f24dc5b63639081bdd89they focused on how this one is *gonna* be worse (as if they know) and fail to talk at all about the normal 300-400 year cycle of large droughts.
You’re pretty far left of center, scaredy. I think you just can’t see it from your vantage point.

probably. If politcal views are viewed as on a sphere, I’d probably be so far down the curve I wouldnt be able to see the center anymore.
but as to your first link, it does look like it’s a good point from scientists about how conservative media edits misleading graphs to prove wrongful points.
but that’s kind of boring.
How about a better headline:
National Review staff member tries to upload misleading graph at fake news conference, but is found in possession of child porn!
too long, and needs focus, and mroe truthiness, but…
maybe
National Review staff member possesses childish porn
then describe how misleading graphs are like childish pornography.
this is a bad example.
i think it’d be more, presenting falsified graphs like the National Review does to promote leftist ideas.
April 23, 2020 at 2:23 PM #816802FlyerInHiGuestKinda boring, svelte.
Only Fox News has a riled up, outraged, what the fuck type news and commentary.Look at the Denmark (liberal) response to Fox News. However, when people are riled up, they don’t listen to reason.
