I never saw a post from HLS asking for business. As I trust him, I asked him a question. And, he responded my post.
Posters have to understand, they may not need a loan, but there are other people who need a loan and have questions to a loan broker.

August 20, 2007 at 11:23 AM #78471lendmjkParticipantYes he did not solicit outright. However look at his post it is practically an advertisment as many of his other posts are. Very shrewd and subtle yet still effective. As you can see by MM asking for info.
I’ve been an sporadic reader of pigginton’s for close to a year now. HLS has got to be the most disingenuous posters I have seen with all his subtle cries for business. The stench of desperation is unbearable. I’m not saying he is disingenuous in business but his ” I just like to help” and “I am not a salesman” bs smells to high heaven.
Yes he seems to know a little bit about lending but all his self-promoting posts should make everybody suspicious.
I have been in the business for many years but I don’t come TROLLING for business here because it is TACKY. I’m here for the information.
Thanks

August 20, 2007 at 11:45 AM #78366beanmaestroParticipantAww, c’mon lendmjk…
First off, the forums are richer by having brokers and realtors on them, and there’s enough loud bears who will immediately and loudly object to anything they perceive as biased.
Second, there’s nothing wrong with HLS, SDR, sdr, (or for that matter) our site owner accepting business they get by offering reasonable wisdom on this site. They’re putting in time here, just like the dear Prof, and if they get good press for doing so. Besides, I’d much rather do business with someone I’ve gotten to know on this site than flip open the phone book and take my chances.

August 20, 2007 at 12:01 PM #78372drunkleParticipanti agree with the naysayers. to whit:
“I received this from a lender a few days ago…”
aka, he’s “in the know” on the “inside”. he lulls you with insider information to gain your trust.
“What we are in right now is a blip on the radar screen. The 1930’s depression lasted 12 years.
We talk about it today in passing.
Having been there moment by moment, day by day would have been painful, as it is now for those that are affected.”this display of levity is particularly devious. diabolical, in fact. he pushes your bear buttons to the extreme in order to insinuate himself with the bears. “i’m one of you, you can trust me”. yeah, right!
and what follows is where his evil plan is exposed, his fatal mistake: instead of stopping there with his slick sales pitch, he makes the common mistake of talking too much, of not knowing when to shut up:
“America is not going away.”
aka, real estate never goes down
“There will be money to lend.”
from who else? none other than hls himself!
“It’s all a big pyramid scheme with too many players to stop.”
honest people dont use terms like “pyramid scheme”, they use the phrase “multi level marketing” or “investment plan”. and “players”, that’s a big red sign; honest people use the term “investors”.
devious and diabolical, no doubt, this HLS. what does that stand for, anyway? nothing short of Home Lending Satan! he would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for us meddling kids.
