Best of luck to you in Orlando.
Orlando is not bad. Disney World is there so you’ll have a lot of visitors.
San Diego is nice only with regard to the weather and the topography. The hills make the views more interesting. But the buildings and houses? You can find the same in Orlando for 1/2 the costs. The houses in Florida are better constructed with the bottom floor all cinder blocks (more resistant to termites and moisture).
I actually like the beaches in Florida more. The beach there smells more beachy and the water is warmer. In Orlando, you can go water skiing on the nearby lakes.
Cost of living wise and location wise, it’s a great place for a family. There are no hurricanes in Orlando.
The Orlando/Tampa is supposed to be one of the first bullet trains to be built. The economy of Orlando should grow nicely.

April 8, 2010 at 8:49 AM #537192fun4vnay2ParticipantI am sure you made a wise decision
Frankly: I don’t see any reason to be in San Diego except for job reasons.
If I get a decent job offer in FL/good areas, I would take it in a heart beat
