    I “think” this Tuesday our City Council will be voting on a measure that in essence will require any owners of a home built prior to 1979 to provide certification that the home is lead free. Of course you will need to get this from a certified lead inspector.

    Someone can correct me if I am wrong on this.

    What is the general procedure in state of California on “lead free paint” homes ? Is the seller supposed to provide a certificate ? Or as a buyer do we request one ?

    Bob007, For years the deal has been a disclosure and pamphlet or pamphlets, containing info on material hazards including lead base paint,. Lead did have to be identified just the probability of the existence of it.
