Don’t think I ever said anyone was crazy Breeze. Nor did I ever say I didn’t think the fire was not created by humans be it sick psychos or arsonists. Perhaps you should reread my entries on this thread.
So if you want to think these fires were the results or had anything to do with builders or distressed homeowners, then you go ahead and think that…
BTW while everyone will keep banging on FOX I guess nobody cares to admit they were the ones who broke the Sam Sulliman fraud case. Or that they have broken other cases as well.

October 24, 2007 at 6:47 PM #91523AnonymousGuestsalo – but if you think of the number of cable news programs that are top rated, like say the top 10, you will discover that most are broadcast by Fox. I am guessing that the Inquirer would have a hard time breaking into that niche since even CNN and MSNBC struggle to do it…

October 24, 2007 at 6:58 PM #91524salo_tParticipantI’m fully aware that FOX has built a strong base but at the same time I wouldn’t say that they are the last name in news. I find that when I watch FOX that its geared towards scaring people and skewing facts to create a story that will make viewers stick around and keep watching. Lets face it news channels are not that entertaining so some of them take it a little further to keep people interested.
I find that of all the news channels FOX is the goofiest of them all and I don’t mean to insult anybody that enjoys that channel, thats just my experience.October 24, 2007 at 6:58 PM #91549salo_tParticipantI’m fully aware that FOX has built a strong base but at the same time I wouldn’t say that they are the last name in news. I find the tempo of the shows to be too quick and the questions too superficial to get anything out of it. It’s all about the soundbite and the overbearing anchor. I really can’t stand to watch CNN, MSNBC and the Keith Obermann’s of the world, although I am sure there are people out there who really enjoy those shows. Talk radio appeals to me, but I prefer Bill Bennett and Dennis Prager over Glen Beck and Sean Hannity for the same reasons I mentioned above. When I turn on Hannity’s radio show, most often I hear him forcefully professing his ideology on some issue, or drilling a guest- literally every time I turn it on. Bennett and Prager are of course conservatives, but have a much more reasoned, open debate format where they consider all sides of an issue (most of the time), dedicate significant time to the discussion etc. Meet the Press is OK too, and really one of the only TV news programs I watch anymore.

October 24, 2007 at 8:07 PM #91563drunkleParticipantnews doesn’t take that much time and isnt terribly entertaining.
editorials, oth, especially polarized editorials, get people’s attentions, if not for shock value, then for the substitute brain effect.
