FWIW, house was purchased in May 2006 for 913K when new. Purchased with 100% financing. The buyer never spent a penny on landscaping it. It backs up to Rancho Santa Fe Road. These houses were by far the worst in LC Oaks IMO. Awkward floorplans with very strange designs that are unlike anything I’ve ever seen around here. It was almost as if they were trying to do something different but in this case different was all wrong. These homes were among the last to sell in LCOaks.
I wouldnt read too much into this one. There’s a 3000 + sq ft newer custom home off Olivenhain Road behind the self storage facility for 699K also.
Both of these are perfect examples of a seemingly good deal for a house you would never want to live in.
There was a much better example of a low price a month or two ago on Paseo Capuchina for a Shea Plan 4 which was one of the better designs in LC Oaks. It was a 5BR/4.5BA 4225 sq ft with a nice west facing backyard for 961K. It originally sold in Feb 05 for about $1M. Shea was the first builder to sell homes in LC Oaks and was met with huge demand. They sold everything pretty quickly. Of course the previous owner, took all the door knobs, appliances, smoke detectors and dug out the trees on his way out but who really needs any of those luxury items;)
