I am very familiar with the area having grown up in the surrounding area and currently residing in Glendora.
In terms of demographics, I don’t know that there is a high concentration of Indians in the area but you should be able to find the niche areas in the vicinity. As the other posters have suggested, there are a few excellent areas to choose from.
The city of San Dimas is nice but dominated with 70’s and 80’s tracks which I am not a big fan of. The theme of the city is also that of stables/ranches so you’ll see that theme carry across the city. Also, on paper, a majority of lot sizes will sound huge but most of the properties are built on hills and generally, the usable lot is a lot less. The city stretches pretty wide from north of the 210 freeway all the way south to the 10 freeway along the 57. Great parks and recreational areas including Bonelli Park where Raging Waters is located and includes fishing areas and camping areas.
Glendora has very highly rated schools (one of the biggest factors in my decision) and has some great neighborhoods specifically in North Glendora.
Some pockets of Covina and West Covina are very nice but I would stick to the South Hills area if you consider these cities.
La Verne has a lot of charm with a good “bang for your buck” and also has very highly rated schools (Bonita school district).
Further east, Claremont has it all with great schools and neighborhoods. The Claremont colleges also give the city a vibrant feel to it. While it is not far from San Dimas (less than 10 miles), you would likely need to commute on the 210 freeway which is brutal during rush hour.
Since you have a school aged child, I recommend using greatschools.org as a resource that gives you school ratings and test scores for any neighborhood.
