I’d been feeling quite discouraged about inventory lately as desirable houses in my rather proletarian price range have disappeared from the market one by one. Many were short sale listings, so I assumed banks were starting to approve those sales …
Then I happened to check the latest REO listings on bubbleinfo.com … as it turns out, more than a few delistings were in fact due to trustee sales.
Maybe there is some hope for me after all.
And there does seem to be more REO inventory about to hit the market … for example, on Bliss Circle in Oceanside, four higher-end houses just went to auction in the span of two weeks. One seems to have gone to an investor or (gasp) homebuyer at a pretty fair price, but three others went back to the lenders. Looks like the pain train has been riding along the Sprinter tracks.
