Location, location, location.
obviously, but the price difference doesn’t justify the difference in location.
Clairemont is only 2 miles from La Jolla. Should a La Jolla home sell for 3X the price of a similar Clairemont home?
how are Clairemont schools in comparison to La Jolla schools?
Ok – compare UC to La Jolla – still a big price difference but the schools are closer in test scores.
Curie (UC): api 949
Bird Rock (LJ): api 973Standley (UC): api 842
Muirlands (LJ): api 875UCHS (UC): api 742
LJHS (LJ): api 832(I’ll concede the high school difference is big. I’ll be evaluating charter schools or choice options for high school)
(Note my bias – I live in UC – in part because it was a sweet spot between affordable and good schools)

Can’t see the ocean from Clairemont.
Status counts for something to many buyers, too.
It’s more than schools.
UC is a nice compromise, yes.January 26, 2010 at 10:29 AM #505953sdduuuudeParticipantIt’s a long walk to the ocean from Clairemont.
