ParticipantGood to hear from you jp. By ‘occupied’ I guess you mean with the holidays or your job. Or are you still working on your house?

ParticipantGood to hear from you JP. I’d noticed you hadn’t been around. Have a good Holiday.

ParticipantWhats the expression?
“Hope is not a financial strategy?”

ParticipantI guess it’s a viable religious strategy. But it seems wrong to put it all in God. I mean, maybe the plan is for things not to work out ok.

ParticipantWalter, You are a more cynical bastard than me! “Working out” does not entail wealth, it only means being happy with one’s current circumstance. And that my friends is the key to life! If you live in a trailer, who cares as long as your wife loves you and respects you, and your kids are not tweakers. Joy is a state of mind.
I think christ helps, btw…oh man you all know I’m Christian now.

Love it!
Reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite movies of all time, “The End”. Burt Reynolds’ character is dealing with a terminal illness and someone tells him god will make him better. Burt’s character replies isn’t it god that made me sick in the first place?

ParticipantAlso seems like the wrong use of the word “miracle”. A miracle involves the temporary suspension of the laws of nature. She’s just looking for some human goodwill, a bit of extra cash or better terms. Not really a miracle per se.

I love how you think Walter.

ParticipantIn a way, describing charitable assistance as a “miracle” is probably more cynical than anything.
