Impact of trolley to UCSD?

Hi all,

I have heard on the grapevine that UCSD circulated a map of where exactly the trolley path would be connecting downtown to UCSD. I was wondering if anyone here got that memo and would be willing to share details.

When I compare the pdf to Google maps, it looks like the red and green proposed paths come up either in the canyon next to or on Charmant, crosses I-5, and then goes right (over/through/below?) the LJ Village Square Mall. Then a huge white dot that covers the intersection of Nobel and Villa La Jolla is the proposed Nobel Drive transit center. I’m trying to picture where there is room for either rail or a transit center in that area, and wondering how it’s all going to fit.

So does anyone have any confirmed details about where exactly these proposed routes would go? Looks like following up Gilman is off the table…

And, I wonder what that will do to property values during the construction? Will there be a mass exodus of renters from the Woodlands North/Villas Mallorca/Cambridge/Boardwalk complexes?

I live in south UC and would love to see the trolley come north.

The Nobel station appears to be pretty much right at La Jolla Village Center – either the Ralphs side of the street or the Whole foods side of the street… I have never seen the parking lot full on the Ralphs side of things – especially on the east and south sides. (Yes – it gets full by the theaters and trader joes.)

Mostly I was hoping someone might have more up-to-date info on if it were going to be above/on/below current ground level, and where the station might be. Heck, TGIF might be happy to be paid off to give up that site — I go by there several times a week and never see it busy.
