Participant
It won’t be good for tech workers. Tech industry is going to tank.
We already saw this happen under Bush Junior.
When the focus of the country turns to low tech, staples, defense, military.Tomorrow, I am going to short Tesla and go long on oil/has/defense contractors. Oh and banks. Ba ma are going to get deregulated again.
Game over for consumer tech and software over the next 4 years.
No, this time it won’t be different.
Funny part is, our clienteles are your typical Trump supporters. So, if they do better, I think we’ll do better. We’ll just have to wait and see.
As for the bigger picture, it’ll be interesting to see what the big corp will do when Trump lowers the corp tax and allow them to bring the $$$ they have sitting overseas.
I’m sorry but I’m not pessimistic.

I’ve been around the block during the tech crash to know a radical changing of the guard will not do us any favors.

CoronitaParticipantYou guys are assuming I wanted to be right on this one lol.
And you guys are really giving me way too much credit for “guessing” correctly.
Just yesterday, dow was up 200, remember.
While I don’t mind the financial results for being “lucky” on the call….As a nation, it feels, well sort of sucky…..
But we live in a democracy, and this is what people want for our country. So…. Let it be….Time to profit off of it the other way….
I guess I can look forward to a repeal of estate taxes, lol….

Participanti kind of remember “America Power” rallies right after 9/11. I could be remembering wrong. people just want to believe everything’s gonna be ok. or rather, traders trading on the idea that everyone thinks everything’s gonna be more or less the same. but i think this is actually a historic event, maybe bigger than 9/11. the end of politics as we knew it.

CoronitaParticipantWell, shit then I guess I’m not going to be as rich when I get deported now, ha ha .

Yes it is historic. It definitely says the Republican party is on the move. I have been of the opinion that the Rep party would splinter so badly it would need reconstructing with some new type of coalition…but maybe I’m wrong. Maybe Trump deconstructed it in one fell swoop and can reconstruct it in the next four years. New theory of mine, it may not hold water.
Another thing pointed out on TV last night – America has a history of giving one party the Presidency for a couple of terms, then going to the other party. Probably because those out of power get so frustrated they’ll all get behind anything that is halfway of their stripe. I think there is a great deal of that going on here too.
But it runs deeper…the Rep voters didn’t go with an establishment candidate, they went off the board. No matter what his warts are, they wanted a fresh start. Were they right in going that direction? I’m not convinced, but I’ve certainly been wrong before…as I said last night, willing to give him a chance. After all, what choice do I have? 🙂
