Investigations are bureaucratic, slow things. Do you think they’ll have some Earth-shaking answer in 11 days? If she wins, then gets arrested, Tim Kaine will be our next President.
October 28, 2016 at 11:35 AM #802724FlyerInHiGuestThere’s nothing there. Nobody cares but the alt-right.

No, I don’t. But now the issue is going to be on people’s mind for the next 11 days, you can’t say that might not affect some people’s decisions over the next 11 days.
Uncertainty is bad, right before the elections.October 28, 2016 at 11:48 AM #802727FlyerInHiGuestDetails are all a blur to most voters.
They don’t even know of when things start and stop. They say that isis is a big thing but they don’t even know what isis really is. That’s why Trump
is able to lie to much.
Most voters listen to general themes and they don’t pay attention to issues that have been covered ad nauseam before.October 28, 2016 at 12:38 PM #802728AnonymousGuest[quote=spdrun]Investigations are bureaucratic, slow things. Depends on when she gets arrested (which in reality is never…)
A sitting president can’t really get arrested because they have authority over law enforcement (and could even pardon themselves…)
A president can be impeached and removed from office, but that’s an entirely different process and needs a 2/3 Senate vote (not gonna happen…)
President-elect getting arrested AND convicted could be a constitutional crisis because it wouldn’t be clear who should take office in January – which is why the FBI would never do it. Plus the conviction could never happen before inauguration.
The reopening of the email case isn’t going to influence the election. The only folks that think the “email scandal” matters are already Trump supporters. Most Americans voters see it for what it is: sloppy IT practices without any malicious intent. Many voters are willing to look past the fact that the Secretary of State is not knowledgeable about the technical details of email systems.

The FBI investigation is just another thing for the alt-right to latch onto. That’ll keep them busy and outraged for the next 4 years.
it looks as if the Republican Party is paralyzed with dysfunction, trapped in a civil war about the fundamental mission, values and tone of the party. The GOP base is drifting further and further into crazyland, thanks to its many influential conspiracy theorists and witch-hunters wielding microphones and muskets.

I am going from having 80% to 40% of my liquid assets in stocks to reduce risk since I am getting another property.
I do think both stocks and San Diego RE are undervalued however. Lower rated bonds as well.
My junk bond funds have dutifully paid me 8 to 10 percent interest and appreciated 20-30%. Energy is the only sector with defaults these days and natgas has gone up more than 50% from last year’s lows.To cover really bad situations I have cash, metals, stockpiled supplies, and S&P 500 puts that are way out of the money.
October 28, 2016 at 1:42 PM #802732CoronitaParticipantI think conservatively, I have about $50k/year in cash flow from rentals (all but one are free and clear).
My original goal was to have about $80k/year by 2016, with an annual of 1 new property per year generating an additional $12k/year.
Unfortunately, it didn’t happen and I’m about 3-4 years behind. Wish I started earlier. Time like this I wish I was only 1/3 dependent on a “job”… Oh well.
I’m staying away from bonds…. It seems like international bonds have been cratering. So have REITs.
October 28, 2016 at 1:50 PM #802734The-ShovelerParticipantQuick throw Bernie Sanders in the race LOL.
Wow this is the weirdest election I have ever seen.
On the bright side maybe I will finally get a chance to buy back in to stocks.
I am stocked up on water, whey protein and cans of soup so I am good LOL.
October 28, 2016 at 2:29 PM #802735spdrunParticipantYou mean water, Chinese melamine, and cans of soup?
October 28, 2016 at 3:23 PM #802737CoronitaParticipantI’m going to look into real estate in Canada. You know, in case Trump wins and he and his followers want to deport me, because you know, I’m stealing one of their jobs 🙁
October 28, 2016 at 3:31 PM #802739gzzParticipantMy bond funds have gone down about 10% from their peaks earlier this year, I would not call that cratering, and are still closer to their 2 year highs than lows. Given what cash pays now compared to their coupons, I am not worried about further declines. I did not expect them to get so high anyway when I bought them for their high yields.
October 28, 2016 at 3:33 PM #802738bearishgurlParticipantI’ve posted it before and I’ll repeat it again. Because of her longstanding codependency issues, HRC brings with her more baggage than could be stuffed into the belly bin of a 747. She stood by her man wa-a-a-ay too long and he is nothing but a liability to her. It’s wa-a-a-a-ay too late to do anything about that now. Bill may very well obtain a legal license to once again roam (“creep”) thru the halls of the White House in his senior-citizenhood but I hope not.
Today, we now have HRC’s longtime sidekick literally joined at her hip with whom she has been “mentoring” for the past ~20 years display the exact same profound codependency problem as HRC did (and still does)! (After all, Huma learned from the best, right?) Even after finally voting with her feet two months ago (5 years, 2 months too late, I might add), Huma’s boatload of baggage she carries with her continuing association to her wayward sexual-deviant and possible pedophile “spouse” could now very well be enough to sink the Clinton candidacy.
We all reap what we sow but this sordid mess is still …. disgraceful. I could well imagine that numerous heads of foreign countries are laughing their heads off at us about now.
October 28, 2016 at 4:29 PM #802742FlyerInHiGuestBG, Bill and Anthony are not running.
As a woman, how do rationalize the sexual exploits of Donald who is running?
