My COE is in early September and the owner of the foreclosure took everything (don’t get me started!) and so I need a new refrigerator, dishwasher, cloths dryer & washer.
I’ve been to retailers and all over the internet researching brands and models and, well…it’s hard to come to any conclusion. Consumer Reports is all over the place and most reviews contradict their findings (as usual). Asian manufacturers are dominating (as usual).
Heck, there are only a few companies left making refrigerators these days. Lets see:
-Whirlpool
-GE (but outsources a lot to LG)
Samsung (shares the parts bin with LG)
-LG
-Viking
-Frigidaire (but outsources a lot to LG)
-Bosch
That’s about it. Most of the market is cornered by Whirlpool, LG and GE. Everyone else is small potatoes.
Everybody hates everything. So where is one to turn to for the truth and recommendations in home appliances?…the PIGGs of course.
Girlfriend just got front load washer dryer set at Lowes for about 1800 out the door, Samsung I believe. The thing to look for is loading capacity. The cheapies are often quite small.
She’s been very happy with it, though only had it 4 months or so.
