    That’s what my family did when we first moved down to San Diego and it’s been downhill ever since. Our next destination wasn’t exactly Fairbanks Ranch!

    Seriously though, it hasn’t been that bad and I’m *almost* back, now living in your old ‘hood (CV).

    That first summer in Del Mar was fantastic though. I was 15; we lived about a block from the beach (on one of the 20 streets, don’t recall exactly). After a tough day at the beach, we snuck into the fair every night and just cruised around. The only sketchy part of the day was making it across the railroad tracks. I also seem to recall eating a lot of pizza.

    Anyway, welcome back! and thanks for sharing the tales of your journey with us.

In any case, I hope that you enjoy everything. I’m also looking to relocate from NE OH to San Diego (North County). My family is a bit resistant, however.     Hey, girl, I’m ancient and have lived here forever. It was called the “San Diego County Fair” for many years. Not sure when it changed to the “Del Mar Fair” or when it changed back. We still go, every year. Had planned to go today till we heard it was gonna be 90 in DM. Hibernated in the A/C instead. Napping…reading…napping…reading. The kid is now watching anime (blech), so I’m online catching up on the news, etc.

    I agree with hibernation in this weather and cool drinks to go with the reading. Have you tried the private messages function yet that was just installed? Lots of upgrades to the forum to keep it current.
