As of 2pm on Monday May 3, 2010 I am officially a homeowner!! First time homeowner who is going to get the $8,000 Federal tax rebate and $10,000 state tax credit!
I bought a foreclosure, offered them $20,000 less than the asking price, they maintained the yard, repainted the entire interior, put in new carpet, upgraded the electrical, and agreed to postpone closing so I could get the Ca tax credit…..not bad.
I am so glad I found Sheldon on this website! As a first time home buyer the process was so frustrating, but he was great and worked out the delay in closing (he is a very patient man and put up with all my pesky questions).
I love our new neighborhood. So far the neighbors have been great, they left me some fresh flowers from their garden and another family made us a wonderful plate of cookies. I think they were worried having a foreclosure in their neighborhood and were relieved when we finally moved in.

The funny part was his buyers agent didnt even know about the new credit and just wanted to close asap so she could get paid. I represented her client better than she did.
