CAR – that is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Are the neighbors attorneys or were they in a previous life? Way to absolve yourself of any responsibility. Sign a release?! What a bunch of crap. I’ve never heard of such a thing to such an absurd degree. I got an idea. Maybe they can back their car in the driveway so when they leave they can just drive forward. Are they capable of seeing out of their windshield straight ahead? Are they just having trouble turning their neck back or looking in the rear view mirror?
I think it’s great your kids are out riding bikes. I hope it catches on and your street is swarming w/kids. Get them off video games for a while and a little fresh air and exercise.
If an adult goes jogging by their driveway, should they sign a release also?
Tell your landlord. The nerve.

July 10, 2010 at 12:05 PM #576625briansd1GuestI hate to say it but we have brought all this upon ourselves for agreeing to live in HOAs. If buyers refused to buy into HOAs, we wouldn’t have so many rules and regulations.
Wanting to control other people’s kids is an extension of living in the controlled environment that is the HOA.

July 10, 2010 at 2:00 PM #576655scaredyclassicParticipantOk I calmed down. In a sense the neihbors are right. It is illegal to rode bikes on the sidewalk. People dint know this so they usually yell at me get on the sidewalk. It is much mote dangerous to rode on the sidewalk because of pedestrians and also harder to see cars backing out. Bikes belong in the streets generally. Course they wouldn’t be happy w yr kids in the st either. Lots of accidents on crowded bike paths with unfocussed riders too. Saw a couple accidents on Newport path recently. I don’t know. The wprld is no longer constructed for humans to be healthy particularly kids
