nope. Feeling pretty bullish these days myself.
March 26, 2012 at 4:20 PM #740555sdrealtorParticipantme neither. Bought into stock market on the dip Thursday and up a few percent already on that buy. Heading out to party tonite:)
March 26, 2012 at 4:26 PM #740557anParticipantI’m in the same boat. If the whole system goes down in flame, then there’s really no point is protecting yourself against it. Just enjoy everyday like it’s your last and die with a smile on your face.
March 26, 2012 at 4:28 PM #740558UCGalParticipantoartypup left the building for her ranch in another state a while back. With her gold/silver/guns/farming supplies. She was the biggest doomsayer.
Arraya is still here. Still predicting a dramatic change.
Both are/were interesting to read.
I’m not as doomy as either of them… but I’m not optimistic. I’m just making my home as self sufficient as it can be – in case I have to shelter in place following an economic collapse… trying to deleverage – which won’t help with inflation, but will help me subsist on less. Putting in my veggie garden soon. Started the prep this weekend. Seedlings are started… If I can’t afford the grocery store food – I’ll grow my own.
As far as rioting in the streets – that could happen… the OWS thing shows there’s potential for it.

March 26, 2012 at 4:40 PM #740560masayakoParticipantI am in “Pray for the best, plan for the worst” mode right now.
Heavily invested in stocks & gold. Still, I have defensive weapons, food supply, fuels, just in case ____ hit the fence. Never hurt to plan ahead sine I have a little one in the house. I can run, they can’t. So, I stock up in case of the worst case scneario.
I bought a house in the mountain, just in case of Tsunami hit. For wildfires, solar flares, nuclear attack, I’d still be f_____ed though.
March 26, 2012 at 5:01 PM #740561The-ShovelerParticipantMe I am not worrying about basic food or security, (I can always go fishing or eat the dang squirrels and gophers that seem in great abundance at my place).
But I am not quite as confident as flu or sdr either.
I am 90% out of market and have about 10% bearish bets (that have been somewhat a disaster as of late admittedly).
I think there is a fair chance that we are seeing a market blow-off currently, also there is a fair chance IRAN or Europe will make headlines again sometime in the next year or so.
Call me hopeful but paranoid. And I am really really good with a shovel, lots of practice.Fact I once got a gopher with a shovel toss.
March 26, 2012 at 5:02 PM #740562sdrealtorParticipantWho said confident? I’m having a good time and will grab a 10% profit in a NY minute if I get it in th enext week or two. I’m a damn opportunist!

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?prodid=11613699Looks like they are catering to Branch Davidians-type of wackos…

Better than me… My life IS an complete disaster.
So I that’s why I don’t bother preparing for one.. Can’t really prepare for something that already happened.

Yes, but those are for earthquake emergencies.
I am considering getting a portable generator, just in case we have electricity interruptions.

What is OWS doing? I haven’t heard MSM covering them at all.. I just keep hearing the headlines blaring in the background. Economy is getting better, apple is $600/share. Qualcomm is the next intel. Google is google. Facebook IPO gizzionaire.. Now’s a time to buy banking stocks……yada yada yada.. All hail the 2.0 bubble.
I’m out…sort of… Yeah, i work in a tech company and if everyone goes up, I do to. And If everyone craters, guess what? I’m no worse shape than everyone else… So I’m going to have my nice cruchmaster rice crackers that I just got at costco…because it’s one of the few things that tastes good that doesn’t contain soy…
Not eating soy sucks.
On a side note. I’ve have found out the painful hard way…Being contrarian. More times I am wrong than right, when it comes out to lining my pocketbooks. I can be the most logical person, and reason out why something shouldn’t be that way…But it ends up being that way… Classic point. No way in hell do I think QCOM is worth $68/share….And yet the damn thing keeps rising. Conclusion, I’m not smarter than most people. In fact, I’m probably dumber for thinking I might be smarter. Resistance is futile.

Yep, I learn to stop being the contrarian after getting burned a few times. I’ve been more wrong than right when I try to be the contrarian. You’ve been saying that about QCOM and I’ve been saying that about AAPL for the longest time. I finally cave in a few weeks back and got in at $520/share.
