ParticipantThe current offer they have had a contingency of sale for the buyers. The buyers asked the sellers to pull the home off of Active status. Usually when there is a contingency of sale the home is left Active and the agent puts the right of first refusal clause in the remarks. This kind of tells you that the buyers came in with a high offer. So the listing agent agreed as a compromise to put it in contingent rather then pending. Yes this is an odd (and unintended) use of contingent status however I don’t see a major bone to pick here. The area is quiet, and a decent part of poway. Some people don’t like it out there, I do. They will likely remove contingencies in a few days as it sounded like the buyers have found someone to buy their home as well.
