In 2006, I seen $1 million tract house with less than an acre of land in Riverside County, my feeling was “this is just doesn’t make any sense”. I was always slow…

February 25, 2008 at 10:51 AM #159552crParticipantI thought something seemed odd when the neighborhood single parent child knocked on my door to ask me for a newspaper subscription and then got in his mom’s brand new Mercedes CL 500 AMG.
It was confirmed when the next day my gardener arrived in a brand new Escalade Truck with 24″ gold plated, diamond studded spinner rims, and listened to music on his iPhone while he worked.
Give me an H, give me an E, give me an L, give me an O, give me a C, what’s that spell?
American Dream!!

February 25, 2008 at 11:57 AM #159589AnonymousGuestit was in 2004, when I realized that maybe I shouldn’t be renting and should look to buy something, since some of my friends has purchased and were going on and on about how “rich” they were because of their new-found equity. I looked and realized that even with a decent salary, all houses around where I wanted to live were way out of my range unless I used exotic financing. I was not comfortable with that at all.
I ended up buying out of state and renting it out. Sold in ’06 and made some money on it. Before I sold, somewhere in ’05, I knew that there was probably a bubble. It was ’06 where I realized that it had to collapse though (thanks to this site and others).
