October 22, 2007 at 8:29 AM #90515BugsParticipantI’m sad for the people who are affected by this fire, and that may include people besides those who are losing their homes. The RB and San Marcos fires are both near business parks where there’s a lot of employment.
My home isn’t at risk but I’m going to spend a few minutes today drawing up a list of what to take it one of these things comes our way. I’d advise everyone – regardless of where you live – to do the same.

October 22, 2007 at 11:45 AM #90567CardiffBaseballParticipantTalk about hitting close to home. Some good friends of ours also moved from Ohio a couple of months after us and settled in RB. About 6 months he bought (I didn’t want him to) and is on the corner of Duenda, and Alacran Ct. which is two streets up from Aguamiel (21 homes so far) and one street up from Azucar. They are staying with us, so it’s very unsettling as they wonder if their home is next.
My gut feeling is they are tucked in pretty safely, and Fox 8 hasn’t announced any homes on their street yet, but they are sitting their watching friends and neighbors homes going up.

I’m about 10 miles from the Malibu fire (and the winds going in the other direction), but it sounds like San Diego is getting really crispy.
Be safe, and I wish everyone, their loved ones and property, nothing but the best.
PS: Lake Arrowhead is ablaze – CNN is doing continuous coverage of all the fires. Normally I’d be irritated by thier 24-hour navel-gazing on just one subject, but this time I’m finding myself quite forgiving.

October 22, 2007 at 11:56 AM #90593AnonymousGuest92011 and 92024 should be OK. I have relatives in those zips and they are still home. For 92078, I believe San Elijo has been evacuated, and not sure what is going on near Cal State San Marcos…
