I have a 30 year fixed at 5.1%, I have lived in my house for 7 years and have lost everything I put into it. I am ~50k underwater.
If I loose my job, I will immediately stop paying; my mortgage payment (PITI) is around $1600 so that’s not to far above rent costs.
Still, I find myself thinking about walking nearly everyday. All we are doing is renting the house from the bank, and so I think we might as well get the heck out of Temecula which is turning ‘bad’ IMO, loose the commute and move to San Diego where I work.
that sucks. but i think everyone thinks about walking from their general existence at least once a day, so i wouldn’t feel that it’s just you. we are all marginal enterprises, and it often seems like itmight be betetr to fold up the tent and try one’s luck elsewhere. it’s not just you. inf act, maybe those thoughts indicate a possible benefit from therapy. there might be some small inner voice trying to speak.
