[quote=svelte]on my wish list: a commuter train from Temecula to downtown SD, straight down 15 then 163. Connect it to the Sprinter in Escondido.
Man, if they did that, I really *could* live without my car! I could do everything (shop, work, recreate) using only my bike and rail for transportation.

It’ll probably be 20 years, but it’s planned

January 13, 2009 at 11:50 PM #328844eclipxeParticipantGot any info on the Oceanside project? Sounds interesting!
There is currently a CSU San Marco extension in Temecula: http://www.csusm.edu/el/aboutus/whoarewe/temecula.html
The city council’s goal is to continue to pump funding into the extension in hopes of creating a full-fledged campus down the road (much like San Marcos started as an extension to SDSU and later became it’s own CSU).
We’ll see how that pans out, but its a start!

January 14, 2009 at 6:04 AM #328426Nor-LA-SD-guyParticipantI don’t have any more info on the Oceanside revitalization projects or the new industrial park at the moment I will see if I can dig some more info up.
It’s a poor substitute but there are buses to the Metro station from the Temecula Mall and from the I15/R76 park and ride.
Sometimes being a little ways from the coast has it’s advantages, Mold can be an issue being close to the coast and Temecula is only a short commute 35 to 50 minutes to most beaches in SD on the weekends and about the same to O.C. beaches using the 74 (takes me about 45 minutes on a very scenic ride to get to the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel)
Oh but that’s supposed to be a secret.
