I just finished the HBO film Taking Chance, and I highly recommend it. A touching film about a career marine who decides to volunteer to escort a fallen marine back to his hometown. The film takes no stance on the war it’s not political at all.
I was a B1-B Bomber Avionics troop during desert storm and our aircraft sat that war out. I volunteered to go to Dover to help with “body bag” work, and really had no idea at 20 what the hell that would have meant. As it turned out, they didn’t need us to go.
Anyway this film is heartbreaking, and touching all at the same time. This is a very moving film I highly recommend it if you get a chance. Kevin Bacon was fantastic.
