So I found out I got into grad school on the east coast and I’m going. My place should rent out for a bit of positive cash flow, so I’m going to keep it, though there’s a good chance I won’t return to San Diego afterwards.
It’s a 3br, and I currently have two friends renting out the two other rooms, and both would like to stay for a while, which is fine (actually preferred) by me.
I’m looking for a good local handyman who can fix whatever needs fixing (or know who to call for any big things) while I’m away and won’t totally rip me off. Anyone have any recommendations?
Also, any issues or pitfalls I should be worried about with this type of situation? At some point, they will inevitably move out, and I might go to professional property management then, but it doesn’t seem necessary yet.
