notice how it’s kinda creeping up? the general sense in the media has been that a pullback’s been long overdue, but it continues its upward creep. now 1250 seems like a reasonable target, maybe even by the end of the year if not earlier. up over 1% in the overnight markets. Not sure what it all means. I’d bet on $1,650 by this time 2010. In fact, I am betting on 1650 by 2010. long miners, and CEF. i expected a giant pullback too. There was an article on MARKETWATCH a few days ago with some analyst saying 3-5k an ounce in the next few years. not that an analyst’s view is necessarily worth anything. just weird to see crazy numbers like that that only gold bugs used to spout being seen on the front page of financial mainstream media.
I wish I could invest directly in gold with my 401K. My only choices are stocks and bonds/treasuries. If I think the market is oversold then I can go to bonds. What if I think the market is oversold and the dollar is going to collapse, well then I’m screwed I guess.
