Some of us would rather “do” than to cry and whine about how everything sucks and instead we stand up and fulfill our obligations.
[snip]
If you cant cut the mustard and it makes you feel better to knock down everyone else’s dreams as stupid.
[snip]
Paid more in taxes in 2010 than im guessing you made the last 5 years from the sour postings you have made.
[/quote]I hear what you’re saying here and I don’t entirely disagree with the general sentiment that I think you’re trying to pass along, but…
The above passages are a bit over the top (and unnecessary) in the context of the discussion and I expect that the Piggs, as a group, are going to have some fun at your expense.
Just my 2 cents.

July 8, 2011 at 12:05 AM #708219sdcellarParticipantThere are pros and cons for both owning and renting. I seem to recall Rich putting up a fairly even-handed (unsurprisingly) article about the buy side not too long ago.
I’m one of the Piggs who caved and I’d have to say it doesn’t mean much. I will say there’s no way in heck we’re the last holdouts.
I’m not surprised, however, that some who haven’t come to the dark side are a little annoyed with the buyer’s club. I know I still wonder how I’ll feel about things 5 years from now. 10 years. Maybe my wounds (?) are still a little fresh.
So yeah, descriptions of the unbridled goodness of buying from some (and not all, mind you!) continue to rub me at least a little bit the wrong way.
As do renting sucks diatribes. Well, on that front, a lot the wrong way. Anecdotally, sure, renting *can* suck. It can be just fine too. I do know there are worse plumbing problems then leaky toilets. Or maybe that’s just an anecdote that was my former (renter) neighbor whose pipes inside the slab burst. I’m pretty sure that cost more than 50 bucks to fix. My neighbors, of course, really had no idea how much it cost to fix because they, well, didn’t have to pay a dime for it.
So, yeah, we all have our “realities”. I’m just gonna have to go with I tried my best to go with something I could afford and hopefully it’ll all work out nicely for my family in the long run.
So, aldante, I hope the same for you. Any update on those repairs, btw?
