Gas Prices and other factors affecting Temecula.

Today we went out for dinner at one of the local restaurants at about 7:00. Not one car parked in the lot nearest the diner. Walked right in, got a table for 5 instantly. I asked the host what was going on, where everyone was. She said “Not Here”. Two years ago the wait at this place would have been 45 minutes plus on a weekend.

A reliable source (employee) told me that today at the tire center at Costco in Temecula, they sold a record number of tires… 6, an all time record low.

I don’t care you you spin it. There is trouble ahead, especially for this area. Energy and food inflation are having its way with this city. I see even the retail big box stores and food chains laying off soon, if not already.

The summer suckers rally is nearly over, and inventory is still pilling on. No stimulus check or rate cut can fix whats about to happen. Many homes need severe price reductions, and by November, I can only imagine the surplus of inventory. Those that think this is a bottom, be careful.

Funny you brought it up – last Sun. nite (pre Memorial Day) we went to Fish House Veracruz in San Marcos – seemed more packed with people (7:30ish) than I’d seen ANY! restaurant in eons, but waitress told me it’s very sloooow. According to her, in 2006, people would be lining up for 1.5 hour wait!!

Point of this long & boring post is that it’s not just Temecula!!

Funny you brought it up – last Sun. nite (pre Memorial Day) we went to Fish House Veracruz in San Marcos – seemed more packed with people (7:30ish) than I’d seen ANY! restaurant in eons, but waitress told me it’s very sloooow. According to her, in 2006, people would be lining up for 1.5 hour wait!!

Point of this long & boring post is that it’s not just Temecula!!

I’m sure things are bad all over but it’s funny you should mention costco in Temecula, I was there today and I think I got the only spot left in the parking lot about 1/4 mile away, then waited 30 minutes because of the lines and didn’t even get one sample because it was a zoo. I wish you were right and I could have the stores to myself but it isn’t the case. I was at the mall on Saturday, another zoo. Somebody still has money.

There is still some money to spend yet…
