ok, flu, I’ll take your advice.
My bro bought that same TV from US Appliance earlier this year and he got a much better deal. He’s able to stream Netflix directly to the TV and it looks nicer than going through a separate box.
I think that Sony still makes the best TVs.
I can live with my setup for a while longer; so I’ll hold off.

December 14, 2010 at 10:50 AM #639237anParticipantYou’re paying a big premium for 3D TV. That’s the latest and greatest tech for TV right now. I concur w/ flu about not buying TV now. They’re predicting that there’s a big surplus of panel that should cause big price drop in December – January.

Just wait until 3d LED tv’s become mainstream. Like once the lower end brands start making them (like Visio, etc)…
Then everyone’s going to have to drop the price. That’s the reason I’m still using my 25″ Sony Trinitron downstairs….
“Old fashion” Big ticket electronic items are so yesterday… All the consumers are snapping up the <$800ish small electronic items....tablets and smart phones, portable electronics, etc. That's why Best Buy is in big trouble. Because they haven't shifted their product mix to these new trends. They still bank on a lot of "old fashion" electronics (TV's, computers, AV gear)...Laptop/computer sales are getting cannibalized by all the tablets/smart phones. And it's simple. Most people these days primarily use a computer to surface the web, check email, listen to music etc...Everything you can do with a tablet...and even some light housekeeping like word processing, etc. Most people don't whip out that MS Excel anymore... If my old employer would make Turbo Tax for Android or iPad, I'd be set on a new tablet.... It will definitely be interesting to see what happens to computer co's numbers next quarter, like Dell.
