FUCK LUXURY CONDOS

I was talking with this young woman selling jewelry and stuff at liberty station and she also sold stickers saying FUCK LUXURY CONDOS. I was trying to get her take on what those stickers meant.

It was a little unclear…a general sense of anti gentrification, fuck the rich, what about helping poor people, etc. She was pretty young and spirited.

I could see her in a few years, possibly married with a kid in a luxury condo.

Or maybe not, maybe she’ll be like, fuck the system for many years on, making cool jewelry and upcycling clothing.

I wanted to write her a note on Etsy trying to further understand her sticker. I also would like a FUCK LUXURY CONDOS Tshirt to wear around my luxury condo, but she only had stickers.

My wife was like, this jewelry’s kind of pricey, seems to be targeted at the luxury condo crowd…which was true, I suppose, though the jewelry price on the necklace my wife liked was $175, which was in the ballpark of working class, isn’t it? like for a hipster bartender, isn’t that pretty cheap? Really gorgeous stuff, IMO. Less than a tattoo.

I mean, I kinda agree with fuck LUXURY CONDOS, even though I want a luxury condo, so I have another place to stay besides my luxury home, but yeah, I’m down conceptually with fuck LUXURY CONDOS, I guess.

If you have any idea what FUCK LUXURY CONDOS might mean to you, maybe you could jot a few notes, i could send her a link to this piggington thread to her Etsy account. This strikes me as a funny thing to do.

Or if you want a Tshirt let me know..

Maybe she could make a bunch of tshirts, I could sell them at HOA meetings.

Or maybe better yet, FUCK THE HOA shirts. Yeah, maybe that’s her future. Or mine.

I had a strong urge to Occupy Wall Street, but also felt compelled to dollar cost average into a vanguard fund.

it’s fun to engage with the youth, but as for me, there’s nothing left to protest against except my own discontent. I wanted a piece of the pie, and I love having a pie in the fridge, but I actually hate eating pie…prefer figs.
