For what its worth I found this quote on a yahoo chat board.
“As a veteran of the banking and S&L collapse of the late 80’s and early 90’s all I can say is that it is a looming colossus in terms of scams and when this starts to shake out in earnest banks, bankers, and investment houses will be falling over like dominoes in a wind storm. How the FED will handle this is beyond my comprehension – the FDIC as usual does not have anywhere near the reserves to cover this mess. One thing to keep in mind is the explosion in derivatives – when all these hedges start to be exercised at once the gears will be stripped off the financial wheels. I guess we will have a nice war cranked up somewhere.”
