    I’m on my way back from a visit to Florida.

    I think that Florida is pretty nice.

    * For the rich person, there’s plenty of prestigious and exclusive real estate.

    * For the “average” person, real estate is much cheaper. You can buy a nice “middle class” house for $250k.

    * Orlando seems a good alternative to San Diego.

    * There is good entertainment for everyone. I love Miami. It’s a very international city where you hear lots of foreign languages. Lots of beautiful people.

    * No state income tax is a huge plus.

    I went to St. Petersburg for a week one summer and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. The beaches were cleaner than here and the water was warm and clear. Sometimes I think about it. Definitely more affordable. Closer to NY and Europe.

    omg flu, the chiggers and fleas LOVED me in FL – bit me right (and left) thru repellent. I was a walking, cracking pink calamine bottle while visiting there and for a month after returning home. Ba-a-a-a-a-d!

    In FL, people actually sit in their backyards or in screened porches/enclosures at night and watch bugs being constantly incinerated in those electric bug killers installed next to porch lights or on a pole, while sipping cocktails. Hey, it’s cheap “recreation.”
