Flooring: what are my options / pricing

Unless you love the look of stone or wood with area rugs, I would do carpet.

We have hardwood floors in house except the bedrooms. Both wood, laminate and tile/stone floors are hard on the feet and back.

If you’re planning on living in the condo, get something that is going to have you come home from a cruddy day at work, kick off your shoes and go ‘ah’.

That isn’t tile and it isn’t wood.

Try living with it for 6 months, you probably will get used to it and can save the money for something else. The floor sounds like it is low maintenance and will not show every little crumb, like wood & marble, that drops on it. Throw some area rugs on it.

I like desmonds idea. Invest in a nice pair of flipflops or some padded slippers with a hard stone, tile floor.Better yet leave a couple of pairs around. The floor will be very compfortable.

I like carpet. Impossible to truly clean, and dramatically shows wear. It looks and feels great for a couple of weeks or so, but then it ages like a fine wine, carrying the cumulative story of every spill, splash, and stain. My all time favorite carpeted area is the bathroom, especially around the toilet, when it is right next to the shower or bath. Second best is the kitchen, third is the dining room. Yummy!
