Very nice speech. Excellent. I especially enjoyed the part were he says that we are responsible for the unfunded liability mess. Not the politicians, but ourselves, because we elect them. We keep clamoring for lower taxes and higher benefits, and elect those politicians who promise both (at a huge cost to future generations). We could elect stern politicians who promise higher taxes and lower benefits, but I guess we don’t do that very often…

Considering how “selfish” the general public are, I think it’s fair to say that they want their entitlement and they want it now. All other things be damned. The J6pack of the world can’t even think long term enough to worry about their own retirement, much less the prosperity of their children.
