Tillers
ParticipantOK, well maybe I should rephrase. I have been “more or less” looking since 2004 as I always have my eyes open for attractive bargains.
The three months is the amount of time I’ve been spending going out 3-4 days a week after work, taking days off, spending my weekends looking at homes.
If you’ve been spending 4 years like that, then I feel for you and have to wonder how you aren’t committed to an institution as that would surely drive me crazy.

ParticipantWith regards to sq-ft, I assume you didn’t measure bathrooms, hallways, entry way, laundry room (if it has one), etc. Those sq-ft add up, especially the hallway. That to me is the difference between a great layout vs a bad layout. More hallways and more walls will make the house feel smaller than it really is.

ParticipantThe instance that made me think of the square foot comment was an obvious misrepresentation of a master bedroom. The listing stated 14 x 12 feet when the actual size was 10 by just under 10. Not sure if they were including the in-room bathroom towards the measurements but it was immediately apparent to myself and my Realtor that the room was no where near the stated size.
