ParticipantJust a warning on short sales. The listing agent is the key to it all. There are a few big agent/teams that collect dozens of short sale listing and have very poor track records. Be careful with those folks

Participantwho knows. our offer on a short sale was probably around early october, we were backup, the higher offer backed out, we went into escrow a few days later when the bank accepted our offer, closed right before thanksgiving a bit over 30 days later. the selling agent had asked us if we were willing to hang in with it for 3-4 months, and we were all surprised when it just happened fast. Just because lots of deals don’t happen doesn’t mean that sometimes deals do.
