Right in the middle of escrow and can’t find a company in San Diego that will issue a policy (no surprise). Does anyone know of a company that might be writing policies?
Don’t think it will do anything to property values but it will definitely raise rates for everyone across the board… renters, homeowners regardless of where you live in SD.

This same thing happened in 2003 after the Cedar fire. No policies were written for several weeks. If I was an underwriter I definitely would not underwrite any policy as active fires were still burning in areas where people were evacuated within the last 72 hours. That would be like loaning money to people for 100% of the purchase price of their property based on stated income, stated assets, and giving them the payment option to have negative amortization.
