    1957, andy Griffiths breakout role. By eliana Kazan, director. Of ON THE WATERFRONT. Was a box office disappointment at the time. Seems contemporary and prescient on fame money politics and sociopaths rising to the top. Andy griffith is disturbing, hard to believe he became sheriff andy Taylor so soon after.

    I saw that a few years ago. Really very striking the vibe he gives out there vs. Andy Taylor or Matlock.

    I think I’ll watch it again for the resonates-today factor.

    Elvis Costello may adapt it for a Broadway musical. He did a song at his concert st pechanga from the potential musical.
