Seriously though, how many six figure jobs can you find in WI?
There was a report that was put out about CA exodus rate. I don’t have it handy..But the report basically indicated that contrary to popular belief, there isn’t a mass-exodus from CA to other states particularly for higher income people….
Namely because folks in those professions earn/make more being in CA than they could elsewhere, despite paying the highest taxes and highest RE costs.
The study did indicate though that more people leave from the lower income category to other states.
I’ll see if I can find a link to that report
Edit: Not the actual report, just how the report is being reported :)…Disclaimer, these reports might have their bias too.

Giving new definition to the phrase…. Welcome to CA…Now go home :)[/quote]
For all the talk of the coming tsunami of foreclosures Due to the huge numbers of defaults the reality is that an NOD’s can come from many sources including Over zealous HOA’s etc… and they still rarely end in foreclosure.
The reality is at least in CA, is that this is a major Job and entertainment center (and in most places a really nice place to live), and that as long as the home comes in at a good price for the neighborhood, it will find a buyer almost immediately.
What’s a good price ???
I don’t know but maybe look at what’s disappearing (selling) next door in a few days time.

July 31, 2009 at 4:32 PM #439842donaldduckmooreParticipantI went to Minnesota, area around the Mayo clinic for job interview and my would-be boss really wanted me to buy a house there. That was back in 2004 where the housing bubble was still being inflated here in california. When I rode with the realtor, there were many houses for sale. I was thinking why SD was not like that. I think the answer is that CA is more attractive to people to buy houses than those in the mid-west. I cannot think of any other reasons.
