    Ask your pay/personal department if you can opt out of SS Tax,

    Most Fed and local employee opt not to pay this tax .

    And yes I should join them someday…

    6% is what the SS tax is if you are employed by someone.

    Supply and demand…. hmmm I wish that worked for fire department and etc…

    What about privatizing the Fire department they do it with Libraries etc…

    Yeah, but they don’t collect it either. Still, it’s nice not being forced at the point of a gun (like the rest of us) to pay into something we know is a big Ponzi scheme.

    Yeah, but they don’t collect it either. Still, it’s nice not being forced at the point of a gun (like the rest of us) to pay into something we know is a big Ponzi scheme.

    If a Fire Department is a private company, their sole worries are their bottom line, shareholders, and profit, not you or your safety.

    Would you want a Fire Department determining that your house and family is not worth the cost to their bottom line? Sounds a lot like the healthcare industry.

    Government enmployees DO pay SS tax. That was an email hoax that went around a while back, but they also DO collect on it.

    They also get an employer matched retirement program similar to a 401k (we’re their employer btw) and their pensions.
